With over 30 years of law enforcement experience, Greg dedicated his career to appreciating the positive impact of human intelligence on police and security investigations and the limitations that such valuable assets and capabilities pose. Greg has proven leadership and extensive expertise in the field of human intelligence which has positively impacted law enforcement agencies both domestically and internationally. This included understanding the fundamentals of human behaviour and developing enhanced personal communication capabilities to develop and maintain relationships with these assets.
Greg has extensive organizational and planning skills as a result of being assigned a variety of high profile responsibilities within the law enforcement environment including the development of a sustainable human intelligence programs taking into consideration threat-risk analysis, organization policy, training, implementation and sustainability of the referred processes, the development of the Source Development Unit concept as a response to augmenting Canada’s investigative capabilities post 9/11 in the field of counter terrorism and tactical responses directed towards the successful dismantling and prosecution of persons in a number of prolific criminal organizations.
As a result of his interest in the complex and multifaceted world of human intelligence, Greg honed his skills operationally through the integration of human sources in investigations for many years and then transitioned the knowledge gained from those experiences into the development of some of the most comprehensive human source training programs available for law enforcement. Further, this knowledge and experience provided Greg with the opportunity to develop operational human source development programs which proved to be so effective that both domestic and a number of international law enforcement agencies modeled their own human source initiatives after.
Rick is an award-winning, decorated, highly analytical professional with 25+ years of expertise driving national and international investigations efforts, data/evidence gathering, source recruiting, covert operations, and information analysis. Rick has expansive experience in conducting in-depth complex investigations and writing comprehensive strategic and tactical reports. He excels in environments that requires strategic support and collaboration with management, key stakeholders, and department leaders. Extremely focused and detail-oriented, Rick has personally conducted foreign investigations world-wide and represented RCMP at many international conferences.
In addition to Rick's Public Sector roles he has held Security Consultant contracts both domestically and internationally. Rick has also occupied the Corporate role of Global Director of Corporate Security where he was responsible for advancing security measures at corporate offices, facilities and transportation needs. He has supported legal services relative to due diligence enquiries, internal investigations and regulatory compliance.
Rick possesses extensive knowledge of information collection, investigative techniques, judicial process, and rules of evidence. He leverages a record of achievement in all aspects of court procedures, search and seizure methods, and related legislation, regulations, and statutes. Over his career, he has been recognized as a go-to person that many turn to for answers and information; comfortable managing he intricacies of the international and foreign laws and protocols.
John Williams is a 33-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). John spent his entire career working Plain Clothes, Undercover and Specialized units. These assignments included Narcotics, Gang and Homicide Units, The Violent Crime Task Force and Fugitive Task Force with the FBI. The last 19 years of his career he worked as a Detective Supervisor with the elite Major Crimes Division (MCD). After Sept. 11, 2001, John was instrumental in creating and supervising the Anti-Terrorism Criminal Investigations Section. Later, John created and supervised the Source Development Unit. This unit was responsible for the recruitment and management of high value human sources and informants. John finished his career at LAPD supervising MCD personnel assigned to various Federal Task Forces including the Joint Terrorism Task Force with the FBI, the Maritime Smuggling Task Force with Homeland Security & the Drug Enforcement Narco-Terrorism Task Force.
John is a very experienced instructor that helped to develop and instruct the LAPD Undercover and Tactical Operations Certification Course, the MCD and Orange County five-day Undercover Course and the five-day Source Development and Handling Course. He instructs courses all over the US and overseas in Human Intelligence, Informant Development and Management, Surveillance, and Dignitary Protection. John was the elected Chairman of the International Working Group of Source Development Units on two separate occasions.
